Three Christmas party games that run in the browser
Most Christmas party games online are printable packs you buy, download and cut out. These three are different: they run on this page, on any phone or laptop, with nothing to download, print (unless you want bingo cards) or pay for. There is a 15-question Christmas trivia quiz with automatic scoring, a Christmas word scramble with ten festive words, and a Christmas bingo card generator that makes a different card every time. Play them solo to test yourself, pass one phone around the room, or put the trivia on the big screen and let the whole party shout.
How to run a games session with them
- Start with bingo. Generate and print a card for each guest at the start of the evening (or let guests open this page and screenshot their card). Call items out between other activities — or play "spot it live": guests tick an item when it actually happens, someone mentions Santa, a candle is lit, a carol plays.
- Trivia in the middle. Fifteen questions take about ten minutes. Solo players can simply play above; for a group, read questions aloud, teams write answers on paper, then run the quiz on one phone to reveal and score. The questions deliberately mix easy (Christmas Day's date) with genuine stingers (where Saint Nicholas was born).
- Word scramble to finish. One phone, one timer, two minutes per person — or print the scrambled list and race on paper. The letters are the only clue, and GINGERBREAD sorts the confident from the lucky.
- Prizes that cost almost nothing. Winner chooses the next carol, picks the first slice of dessert, or wears the paper crown until the next game crowns someone else.
Office and work parties
Every game here was chosen to be safe for a work party: no drinking games, no dares, nothing personal, nothing that makes the new starter wish they had stayed home. Trivia teams are the classic for a reason — mixed teams of five or six, one phone per team, scores on a flip chart. Bingo works across a whole department because the generator never repeats a card. If you are organising, our guide to Christmas games ideas for adults adds icebreakers, team games and quiet games for smaller gatherings, with a section on running them at work.
More games, and planning the rest of December
Three games start a party; a full evening usually wants five or six. The companion guide, Christmas Games Ideas for Adults, describes fifteen — including charades and Pictionary card ideas, "most likely to", finish-the-carol, a gift-passing game and a scavenger hunt — with notes on group sizes and what each game needs. For the classroom version of the same problem, see Classroom Christmas Party Ideas. And if December itself feels like the opponent, the Self-Care Advent Calendar and the Christmas Countdown are calmer company.
Frequently asked questions
Are these Christmas party games really free? Yes — all three games on this page are free, with no download, no sign-up and no daily limit. They run in your browser on any device.
How many people can play? The trivia quiz and word scramble work for one person or a roomful (teams answering together). For bingo, generate one card per player — every card is different, and there is no limit on how many you can generate.
Can I print the bingo cards? Yes. Generate a card and use the Print button; repeat for each guest. Print at 100% / actual size on ordinary paper or card. If you prefer, guests can screenshot a card and mark it in their photo app instead.
Are the games suitable for a work Christmas party? Yes — they were picked for exactly that. No drinking games, no dares, nothing embarrassing; trivia and bingo are the two formats every office party already trusts.
Can children play? The trivia leans adult (a few questions will beat most ten-year-olds, which adults tend to enjoy), but families play it together happily with mixed teams. The word scramble and bingo suit anyone who can read.
