About this Cyber Monday countdown

The Cyber Monday Countdown ticks down second by second to Monday, November 30, 2026 — the biggest online shopping day of the year in the United States, and now a major sales event in the UK, Canada and Australia too. Below the timer you will find the full BFCM calendar, what Cyber Monday actually is, how it differs from Black Friday, and how to shop it without overpaying. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded or stored.

Cyber Week is the five days from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday: November 26–30, 2026. Future Cyber Mondays: November 29, 2027 and November 27, 2028. The date always falls on the Monday after US Thanksgiving (the fourth Thursday in November), so it moves between November 26 and December 2 each year. When this year's Cyber Monday passes, the countdown automatically rolls over to the next one.

What is Cyber Monday?

Cyber Monday is a marketing term for the Monday after Thanksgiving, created to encourage online shopping. The term was coined in a 2005 press release by Ellen Davis of the National Retail Federation's Shop.org division, at a time when most people still had faster internet at work than at home — so they did their online holiday shopping from the office on Monday. That detail is long gone, but the day stuck: in 2025, US shoppers spent about $14.25 billion online on Cyber Monday (Adobe Analytics), more than on Black Friday itself ($11.8 billion), and forecasts for 2026 put Cyber Monday at around $15.1 billion. It is, by online sales, the single biggest e-commerce day of the year.

Cyber Monday vs Black Friday: what is actually different?

The old distinction — Black Friday for shops, Cyber Monday for websites — has mostly dissolved, because most Black Friday deals are online now too. What still holds, broadly: Black Friday is strongest on TVs, appliances and in-store doorbusters, while Cyber Monday is strongest on tech, software subscriptions, direct-manufacturer laptops (Dell, HP, Lenovo) and digital downloads (games, e-books, courses). During Cyber Week itself, prices on the same item at the same big retailer often converge to within a few percent, so the day matters less than the price history: a "deal" is only a deal if it is cheaper than the item's normal price, not just cheaper than an inflated "was" price. If you already know what you want, the winning move is to track its price from early November and buy on whichever day it actually drops — not to wait for Monday out of loyalty.

How to shop Cyber Monday without overpaying

  1. Make the wishlist now. Around three-quarters of shoppers research Black Friday deals before mid-November, and the shortlist is what stops impulse buying. Write down exactly what you want and the price you would pay.
  2. Trust price history, not the "was" price. Check what the item actually cost over the last 30–90 days. A strikethrough price the item never sold at is not a discount.
  3. Check the return window before you buy. Many retailers extend holiday returns into January for purchases made in November and December — but not all, and marketplace sellers often differ. A cheap price with no returns is not cheap.
  4. Watch the shipping cutoff. For delivery before Christmas in the US, the recommended send-by dates are around December 17–19 depending on service. A Cyber Monday bargain that arrives on December 27 is not a Christmas present.
  5. Do not buy just because it is on sale. The most expensive Cyber Monday purchase is the one you would not have bought at full price. If it is not on the wishlist, it is not a deal.
  6. Start early, finish on Monday. Many retailers now run deals from early November (one major retailer runs early deals from November 12 and a Cyber Monday event from November 30 to December 2). Use the early weeks for research and Monday for the final checkouts.

Cyber Monday in the UK, Canada and Australia

The UK, Canada and Australia all follow the same calendar — Cyber Monday 2026 is November 30 everywhere — even though Thanksgiving is not a holiday outside the US. UK retailers treat BFCM as a fixed point in the promotional calendar, and many stretch it into a full "Cyber Week" or a month-long November campaign. Prices are in local currency and the deals are local, but the date, the countdown and the shopping logic are the same. One difference: shipping cutoffs and return rules are set by the retailer and the country, so check the local versions, not the US ones.

Frequently asked questions

When is Cyber Monday 2026?

Monday, November 30, 2026 — three days after Black Friday (Friday, November 27, 2026) and four days after Thanksgiving (Thursday, November 26, 2026).

How many days until Cyber Monday?

Use the live countdown at the top of this page for the exact figure — days, hours, minutes and seconds until November 30, 2026.

Is Cyber Monday only online?

It started that way, and it is still led by online deals, but the line has blurred: most Black Friday deals are online too, and many Cyber Monday offers are honoured in shops as well. The day is defined by the deals, not the channel.

Is Cyber Monday better than Black Friday?

For online tech, software and digital goods, usually yes. For TVs, appliances and in-store doorbusters, Black Friday is usually stronger. For most items, the best day is whichever day the price actually drops — check the price history.

When do Cyber Monday deals start?

Many retailers start early: some run early deals from November 12, the core Black Friday sale from November 23–29, and the Cyber Monday event from November 30 to December 2. The single day is the peak, not the whole sale.

Is it Cyber Monday today?

If today is November 30, 2026, the countdown above says "It's Cyber Monday!" Otherwise it counts down to the next one.
