When is Cyber Monday 2026? Date, BFCM calendar and shopping tips

When is Cyber Monday 2026? The short answer

Cyber Monday 2026 is on Monday, November 30, 2026. It is the Monday after US Thanksgiving (Thursday, November 26, 2026) and three days after Black Friday (Friday, November 27, 2026). If you want the live countdown instead of a date, open the Cyber Monday Countdown 2026 — it ticks down second by second, shows weeks and sleeps too, and rolls over to 2027 automatically once the day passes.

The BFCM calendar for 2026

BFCM is retail shorthand for Black Friday Cyber Monday, and the two days are really one five-day event called Cyber Week:

DateDayEvent

November 27, 2026FridayBlack Friday

Future dates follow the same rule — the Monday after the fourth Thursday in November: November 29, 2027 and November 27, 2028. So if you ever forget the exact date, find Thanksgiving Thursday and count forward four days. The date always lands between November 26 and December 2.

A short history: from office internet to the biggest online day

The term "Cyber Monday" was coined in a 2005 press release by Ellen Davis of Shop.org, the digital division of the National Retail Federation. The observation behind it was simple: in 2005, most people had faster internet at work than at home, so online holiday shopping spiked on the Monday after Thanksgiving, when people were back at their office computers. Home broadband killed that reason years ago, but the day outgrew it completely. By 2020, Cyber Monday was the biggest online shopping day in US history at $10.7 billion. In 2025, US shoppers spent about $14.25 billion online on Cyber Monday (Adobe Analytics) — more than Black Friday's $11.8 billion — and forecasts for 2026 put Cyber Monday at around $15.1 billion, with the whole five-day Cyber Week at roughly $47 billion. What began as a press-release phrase is now the peak of the e-commerce year.

Cyber Monday vs Black Friday: which day wins?

It depends what you are buying. Black Friday is still strongest on TVs, appliances and in-store doorbusters — the big physical items and the queue-outside-the-shop offers. Cyber Monday is strongest on tech, software subscriptions, laptops sold direct by the manufacturer, and digital downloads (games, e-books, courses). During Cyber Week itself the distinction softens: the same item at the same big retailer often ends up within a few percent on both days, because retailers run continuous pricing from Thanksgiving evening into early December. The practical rule: track the price of what you want from early November, and buy on the day it actually drops. Waiting for Monday out of loyalty costs money when the drop happened on Friday, and waiting for Friday costs money when the drop happens on Monday.

What to buy on Cyber Monday

The categories that consistently lead Cyber Monday: laptops and accessories (especially direct from Dell, HP and Lenovo), software subscriptions (Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft 365 and similar), gaming digital downloads (Steam's Autumn Sale, Nintendo eShop), smart home devices, tablets, headphones and audio, and Amazon-exclusive device drops. The categories to be careful with: anything where the "was" price is doing the work. A television "reduced" from a price it never sold at is not a deal, and neither is a gadget bundle padded with accessories you did not want. The best Cyber Monday purchases are almost always things already on your list before November began.

How to shop it smart

  1. Write the wishlist before November. Around three-quarters of shoppers research deals before mid-November. The list is what stops the day turning into impulse spending.
  2. Check price history, not the strikethrough. Look at what the item cost over the last 30–90 days. That is the only honest "was" price.
  3. Read the returns policy first. Many retailers extend holiday returns into January for November and December purchases, but marketplace sellers often differ, and a bargain with no returns is not a bargain.
  4. Watch the shipping cutoff. For delivery before Christmas in the US, recommended send-by dates fall around December 17–19 depending on service. Order late and the gift arrives after the holiday.
  5. Set a budget before the sales start. Decide the total first — the Christmas Budget Calculator does exactly this, including a per-person gift list — and let Cyber Monday fit inside it, not the other way round.

Cyber Monday in the UK, Canada and Australia

All three countries follow the same calendar: Cyber Monday 2026 is November 30 everywhere. UK retailers treat BFCM as a fixed point in the promotional calendar even though Thanksgiving is not a UK holiday, and many stretch it into a full Cyber Week or a month-long November campaign. Canada and Australia run their own local versions on the same date. Prices, shipping cutoffs and return rules are local, so check the retailer in your own country rather than assuming the US terms apply.

Frequently asked questions

When is Cyber Monday 2026?

Monday, November 30, 2026 — three days after Black Friday (November 27) and four days after Thanksgiving (November 26).

How many days until Cyber Monday?

Use the Cyber Monday Countdown 2026 for the exact live figure in days, hours, minutes and seconds.

Is Cyber Monday only online?

It started that way and is still led by online deals, but most Black Friday deals are online too now, and many Cyber Monday offers are honoured in shops. The day is defined by the deals, not the channel.

What is the difference between Black Friday and Cyber Monday?

Black Friday (November 27) is the day after Thanksgiving and is strongest on TVs, appliances and in-store offers. Cyber Monday (November 30) is the following Monday and is strongest on tech, software and digital goods. Together with the weekend they form Cyber Week.

When do Cyber Monday deals start?

Many retailers start early: some run early deals from November 12, the core Black Friday sale from November 23–29, and the Cyber Monday event from November 30 to December 2. Monday is the peak, not the whole sale.

The bottom line

Cyber Monday 2026 is Monday, November 30, 2026. It closes a five-day Cyber Week that opens with Thanksgiving on November 26 and Black Friday on November 27.
